Ganesha Chaturthi, also known as 'Vinayak Chaturthi' is celebrated by Hindus around the world as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. The 11-day festival begins with the installation of beautifully sculpted Ganesha idols in homes and mandaps (large tents), colorfully decorated, depicting religious themes or current events.
The occasion is marked by worship of the lovable elephant God, meeting with friends and relatives, gorging on sweets and other delectable dishes, preparing food offerings for the Lord and handing over presents to one's near and dear ones for 10 days, from Bhadrapad Shudh Chaturthi to the Ananta Chaturdashi. Join the procession shouting “Ganapati Bappa Morya, Purchya Varshi Laukar Ya" |
